미국의 '메리 스크림저'는 대학에서 미술을 공부한 후, 잡지사의 아트 디렉터 및 의류 디자인 일을 했습니다. 그녀는 세상을 여행하면서 본 것들과 아이들에 대한 사랑을 이미지로 담아 세상에 보여준다고 합니다.

 

겨울철 스위스 수도원에서 만난 신부님들은, 그녀에게 유머와 아이디어의 영감을 주기도 했죠. 그녀 작품의 키워드는 겨울, 수도원의 사제들, 스키, 새, 동물, 비행기 등입니다.

 

특히 발명가인 아버지와 레오나르도 다빈치에게서 많은 영향을 받는다고 하네요. 밝고 선명한 색상이 친근하게 느껴집니다.

Mary-Margaret has always been drawn to the skies, from climbing the fridge as a child to her current profession as a circus artist. She is a static trapeze specialist, who actively trains lyra/hoop, handstands, and silks. Her love for trapeze is as love should be: passionate and irrational. When in the air, she has the ability to become anything imaginable, from a silly googley-eyed alien, to a sleek monster, to a beautiful woman in the air. Take that, chameleons.

 

Mary-Margaret has had the pleasure of training with Toronto’s elite. Unable to stay still, she has also trained in Montreal, the international circus capital, where she trained with Cirque du Soleil performers and instructors. Her work has been funded by the Toronto Arts Council, the Ontario Arts Council, and the Canada Council for the Arts.

 

As a Toronto-based aerialist, she has performed for some epic events such as the Starlight Wish Foundation, CIBC United Way Fundraiser, Lunacy Cabaret, and Cirque du Zouk. She’s worked in some capacity with almost every Toronto circus company including Illuminair Entertainment, Zero Gravity Circus, Cirque Sublime, and Hit and Run Productions. One of her favourite performances was playing a science experiment in Frankenstein’s lab during a haunted house. Her most recent feat has been working with Illuminair Entertainment to create a circus film of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.
