Tokyo's Top 5 Anime and Manga Locations

There are numerous museums, shops, cafes, and other locations in Tokyo, particularly in Akihabara, that are geared toward fans of anime and manga.  Tokyo has consequently grown to be a well-known tourism attraction on a global scale.  The ten anime and manga hotspots in Japan are listed here!  See an example of Akihabara below to get an idea of just how big the anime and manga fandom is!

An organization with a focus on developing human resources for the anime business and disseminating knowledge about anime is based in Akihabara.  The center hosts a variety of anime-related events, including talk show broadcasts and autograph signings.

2. Yoshihiro Yonezawa Memorial Library of Manga and Subcultures

A collection of Japanese manga, anime, and video game literature is kept in a library at Tokyo's Meiji University.  The Tokyo International Manga Library, which will be finished sometime in 2014, launched this library as a precursor to it.

3. Otome Road (Ikebukuro, Tokyo)

Otome Road, which translates to "Maiden Road," is a section of road close to Tokyo's Ikebukuro station that runs along the west side of the Sunshine 60 Building.  Numerous stores here sell merchandise linked to anime and independently produced manga, periodicals, anime, and books that are all geared toward women.  Otome-kei, which translates to "Maiden style" in Japanese, is the name of this subgenre of manga and animation; it also gives the street its name.

This anime boulevard, which recently opened beneath Tokyo's Asagaya station, connects anime makers and viewers.  Numerous costume stores, shops selling anime-related goods, cafes featuring member-only anime screenings, and other anime-related goodies can be found along this street.

A prominent anime and character shop area including Hello Kitty, Rirakkuma, Ultraman, Pretty Cure, and other stores located underneath Tokyo Station.  In this region, you can also find shops for the official Japanese television networks and speciality stores for kabuki.  Every time visitors return to this enjoyable location, they may take in something new thanks to the street's ongoing events!
