Otome Road, which translates to "Maiden Road," is a section of road close to Tokyo's Ikebukuro station that runs along the west side of the Sunshine 60 Building. Numerous stores here sell merchandise linked to anime and independently produced manga, periodicals, anime, and books that are all geared toward women. Otome-kei, which translates to "Maiden style" in Japanese, is the name of this subgenre of manga and animation; it also gives the street its name.
