일본의 '아베 토시유키 阿部智幸'는 투명한 빛이 아름다운 풍경을 수채화로 그리고 있습니다. 신문사의 디자이너와 중학교 미술교사로 20년가량 일하다가 일찌감치 퇴직하여 전업작가의 길을 가게 되었죠.
그는 주변에서 흔하게 보게되는 맑고 순수한 자연의 풍경을 조용하고 부드러운 빛으로 도화지에다 담았습니다. 매우 사실적으로 표현된 그의 작품은 국내외에서 많은 인기를 얻고 있으며, 미술 교사 출신답게 수채화 강좌도 자주 열고 있답니다.
About Him
Born in 1959 in Sakata, Abe Toshiyuki is a talented Japanese watercolorist who received his artistic education at the National University. And after graduation he worked as a teacher of drawing and painting for about 20 years. According to Toshiyuki, his long-standing desire to become an artist made him leave teaching in 2008 to concentrate on the dream of his life. Currently Toshiyuki Abe is intensively working as an artist and takes an active part in art exhibitions.
Noteworthy, for his incredible painting the artist has got several prestigious awards. “In my works I focus on the nuances and subtleties of the simple things that surround us”. Traditionally, the Japanese show a deep love and respect for nature, and their painting reflects the poetic description of fragility of nature. And this same idea – largely expressed in Abe Toshiyuki hyperrealistic watercolors.
“Responding to a question about what art is, I would say that art is a mirror of the soul of the viewer. For example, there are many different points of view when different people look at the same picture. Also, when people are in different state of mind looking at the same picture, his point of view, too, can easily be changed depending on the state of mind. It is these changes, I mean when I say that art is a mirror of the soul of the viewer.”
“When I’m painting in nature, I try not to choose a well-known place, or a place that can be easily recognized. The reason is that it can cause a feeling of deja vu in the viewer and to prevent the perception of new ideas. I believe that the main task of art is to touch the deepest emotions coming from the heart of the viewer.”
