우크라이나의 인민예술가 '콘스탄틴 로미킨'은 오데사미술대학을 졸업하고, 소련 전역에서 인기를 얻은 사실주의 화가입니다. 풍경화와 인물화를 주로 그렸는데, 특히 오데사의 발레리나가 무대에 오르기 전 준비하는 모습을 즐겨 묘사했습니다. 오일과 파스텔로 채도 높은 색감을 표현했으며, 과감한 붓질이 특징입니다.
About Him
Konstantin Lomykin (1924-1993) – a famous Ukrainian painter and graphic artist. Author of thematic paintings, works of the domestic genre and landscapes.
The artist was born in Hlukhiv, Sumy region. He graduated from the Odessa Art School in 1951 where he studied with L. Muchnyk, M. Shelyuto, and M. Poplavsky. Participant in exhibitions since 1951, his solo exhibitions were held in Odessa (1953, 1974), Kharkov (1954) and Kiev (1956, 1957).
In 1971 he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the USSR, and in 1984 – People’s Artist of Ukraine.
Whatever genre the artist works in, each of his works is based on a deep study of the topic, vividly and fully reflects the features of his creative personality. Colorful perception of the world around is manifested in genre paintings and portraits of the artist.
K. Lomikin skillfully executes the image of the heroine in pastel, capturing the moment of rest or waiting before going on stage. The manner of K. Lomikin’s work fully corresponds to the content of the picture, thus conveying the freshness and fullness of the character. The work was created almost as a reportage photograph, which captured a moment of time.
With his work, the artist has created a huge number of paintings filled with various plots. Here and revolutionary themes, genre and domestic scenes, themes of labor, landscapes, still lifes, portraits. But one of his favorite themes were the images of ballerinas, to which K. Lomikin turned throughout his career.
The artist’s works are in art museums in Odessa, Kiev, Nikolaev, Zaporozhye, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad: Japan, France, Greece, Germany, Italy, Portugal and others.
